A minimalist and elegant Ubuntu-based distribution

Bodhi Linux is an Ubuntu-based distribution that consumes very few resources. The main feature that sets it apart from other alternatives is its Enlightenment desktop, which gives your operating system elegance and flexibility at the level of Unity or Gnome but without being quite so heavy.

Bodhi Linux's philosophy is based on the belief that users are smart enough to choose which applications best suit their needs in the Linux environment. The default set of installed applications is thus very basic, to the point that they take up just 10 megabytes (besides the kernel and operating system): ePad word processor, EFM explorer, and the Midori web browser. Any other application you need can easily be downloaded from the integrated AppCenter.

The Enlightenment desktop by default offers a dark interface with simple lines, a dock on the upper side of the screen, and a nice package of icons from Numix. All this, together with the fact that it can be installed and runs well on more humble machines, makes Bodhi an option to keep in mind within the Linux ecosystem.

The installation includes English as the only language, but others can be added later through the AppCenter.
